Anthony Madden founded Madden’s Refrigerated Transport in 1976, as a general freight company operating out of Goulburn. Early into the business, he landed an account with Tancred’s meat company and began delivering meat into Canberra and the surrounding regions. When Tancred’s bought an abattoir in Harden in the South West Slopes region of NSW, they asked Anthony to move to the area too. Although Tancred’s later sold the abattoir, Anthony and his family decided to stay in Harden. He diversified the business to include carting frozen fruit, fruits and vegetables, groceries, and other chilled and frozen goods – delivering across the Riverina and along the entire East Coast of Australia. Anthony says that his employees all live in Harden or surrounding towns, and the business actively inves...

This was emailed to me and, rather than email it around, I figured it should go in YouTube. The video is shot from the air-traffic control tower of a massive Russian (or Ukrainian I am now told) plane taking off from Canberra 'International' Airport. Listen to the commentart from the ATCs - the plane only just makes it off the ground, using 101% of the available runway space.
Tomorrow I fly to Canberra and the start of my solo ride back to Adelaide, a distance of some 2000km. Today though, I have to pack the bike and all my gear ready for air freight. Music: bensound.com More info: http://blokeonbike.com
Bay Removals is located in the Moruya Industrial Estate in Moruya on the NSW South Coast. For almost 40 years, the family business has provided local, interstate and international furniture removal, and onsite storage. Originally based on the family’s farm between Moruya and Mogo, Jo Piggot says her parents decided to move to the Industrial Estate in 2015 to allow for Bay Removals’ continued growth. Storage is a significant part of the business, with the family’s collection of shipping containers increasing from one to 130 in just over a decade. They also have a large range of trucks, and Jo’s brother drives a B-Triple road train to Western Australia every six weeks. Jo says the majority of their removals are retirees relocating from Sydney to the South Coast. She believes the business ...
The beautiful NZR 14A Garratt number 525 put on a great show for us on a chartered freight train in July 2017. We were up early to see the Garratt off shed before sunrise, so that we could film its departure from Bulawayo station just after sunrise, with the sun reflecting on the loco's polished paintwork. The loco crew then put on a superb show for us with some fast runpasts at various points along its route. More of this charter follows in Part 2.
The Canberra Oil Train service arrives at Tarago, NSW. This is one of the last few runs before cancellation of this service, leaving no freight being hauled to the Nations Capital. The train arrives into Canberra and Departs Canberra on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and provides fuel for Shell. The day this was taken was windy, and quite cool for a summers day. Taken with a Sony Cybershot DSC-TX1
X50 and X48 pass through a crossing just outside of Lake Bathurst on one of the last Canberra Oil Train services before cancellation. This train is run Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sydney to Canberra and return to provide fuel for Shell in Canberra. The Day this was taken was a little windy, wet and cloudy leading to low light and a little bit of lag.
What Is? Canberra Canberra is the capital city of Australia. With a population of 381,488, it is Australia's largest inland city and the eighth largest city overall. The city is located at the northern end of the Australian Capital Territory better known as the ACT. A resident of Canberra is known as a "Canberran". The Australian Parliament House is located in Canberra as well as Australian War Memorial. Canberra is mispronounced by many as Can Berra. After Federation in 1901, a site for the capital was sought, and Canberra was selected. The Australian Capital Territory was declared on 1 January 1911 and an international competition was held to design the new capital city of Australia. The competition was won by a submission from American architect Walter Burley Griffin with drawings draf...

A crowd of over 30,000 people attended the 2016 Canberra International Airport Open Day, which included aircraft displays and activities. The day was a great opportunity for the ABF to showcase its role in protecting Australia’s borders, and to highlight its forthcoming permanent presence at Canberra Airport with the commencement of international flights in September 2016.
This video was launched at ALC's Parliamentary Function at Parliament House, Canberra, on 21 June 2017. It outlines the importance of getting the content of the National Freight and Supply Chain Strategy right, both for the freight logistics industry and for the Australian economy as a whole.
English - The V/Line Centrol Train Control Gods looked favourably on local train enthusiasts providing a very rare weekday daylight freight train run along the Ballarat line through Bacchus Marsh. Generally all freights to and from Ballarat run via Geelong during daylight hours especially on a weekday. Weekday daylight freight trains along the Ballarat Line are extremely rare due to the frequency of V/Line passenger services and limited crossing loops which leave very few paths for anything else. Here is Pacific National 9102 with the containers from Manangatang in Victoria's North West with locomotives G536, X43 and G531 at it runs through Bacchus Marsh and powers up the grade towards Melbourne. The sound of the 422/22 class is missed. That rhythmic beat having been part of the scene since 1969 has become more familiar in other states with the dispersement of the 422 class beyond the confines of NSW other may have the pleasure of their tones. Though here is SK81 with AKs on their way to Canberra having just past Joppa Junction with 2210 on 25th July 2013. The 22 class having been brought up on a freight and the Canberra trip is a small detour as the AKs are programmed to travel to WA ultimately one this branch line obligation is discharged.
